Practical Nursing Program powered by TCAT
Dual-Enrollment Certificate Program
Students with aptitudes for science and service professions will be identified at the middle and early-high school level, and they can be enrolled in the practical nursing pathway in the ninth grade. While in high school, students will participate in classroom instruction, hands-on labs and clinical experiences that provide opportunities to earn pathway credentials such as CPR/AED, OSHA-10 Healthcare and certified nursing assistant prior to graduation. Upon successful completion of all three trimesters and high school graduation, students will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN). The Practical Nursing Program curriculum is offered in partnership with TCAT Elizabethton and TCAT Morristown. Credits earned within the program are transferable to a TCAT nursing program to pursue further education in nursing.
