Ballad Health Academy hosts successful Nursing Careers Camp at Bristol Regional Medical Center

More than 70 Ballad Health Academy students from our seven partner high schools participated in our second Nursing Careers Camp at Bristol Regional Medical Center on June 15-16.

Over two days, students participated in a variety of hands-on skills stations, learned from guest speakers and had an opportunity to work with experienced teachers and nurses currently working in the field.

Day one included introducing students to fundamental patient care skills, clinical procedures and potential career pathways. On day two, students participated in the Basic Life Support (BLS) course, a rigorous, four-hour session in which students can earn their BLS certification. Additionally, students were invited to tour Bristol Regional Medical Center, where they learned about the many career opportunities in nursing and healthcare.

Limited seats are still available for our next Nursing Careers Camp, which will be held July 7-8 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. The camp is open to rising ninth grade Ballad Health Academy students and any current Academy students who have not already attended a Nursing Careers Camp. The camp will cover the same material offered during the June 15-16 session. We encourage interested students to take advantage of this exciting and free opportunity to explore the world of nursing and healthcare. To sign up, go to our events page.
